Powder River Rocks Family Day

An adult in custody photographer captures a happy moment for one of the attending families

Powder River Correctional Facility (PRCF) held its 7th Annual Family Day Event on August 24, 2019.  The event was attended by 40 adults in custody as well as 134 of their friends and family members.

This year’s event was spectacular, and with perfect weather too! The day’s activities included photos, crafts, face painting, a bounce house, lasso golf, and lawn bowling. Those that attended shared a delicious meal and snacked on snow cones.

Local community volunteers, including the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, New Directions Northwest, and DOC staff volunteers were on hand for a fun-filled day that has become one of PRCF’s most popular events. Family Day was created to bring families and friends together to provide a better understanding of their important role in the successful transition home for adults in custody.
