The Snake River Correctional Minimum (SRCM) facility’s Opening Minds of the Communities Club arranged a successful coffee and creamer fundraiser, donating the proceeds to Project Dove. Through hard work, planning, flexibility, patience, and teamwork, the AICs were able to donate an impressive $1337.53! Both the club president and Project Dove’s director expressed sincere appreciation for the shared opportunity to support those in need.
Thank you to the Opening Minds Club, the 541 participating AICs, and the dedicated SRCM staff for making this donation possible. And a special thank you to the AIC volunteers, who devoted their spare time to crochet the hats, scarves, and stuffed animals!

Project Dove’s Director shared the following words:
On Behalf of Project Dove board members, advocate team and our clients, I would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to all of SRCI inmates, staff and community that helped in making this amazing donation possible here today. Please know that your hard work and generosity will help in the continuation for our program to provide direct emergency safety services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Those services that your contribution will assist in are the following: emergency shelter, food, clothing, rental assistance, utility bills, gas to get to and from work, transportation such as city bus tickets, greyhound bus tickets and in some cases air fare, legal fees, medical bills and that’s just to name a few.

You might be thinking, eh, no big deal, it was nothing, glad to do it; but what I can tell you from my experience is the reality that many folks say they want to help organizations such as ours, few actually step up and do it.
So, give yourselves a well-deserved round of applause for actually putting good intentions into action.
Again, thank you for thinking of us and in return please know that we are thinking of you and although some days are harder than others while in SRCI you are not forgotten and God sees all, and knows, and your good deed today has not gone unnoticed. So, take care, and continue to do good.
