Warner Creek Works Towards a Shared Cause

Warner Creek Work Crew

The Warner Creek Correctional Facility (WCCF) community work crew warms the hearts and homes of low-income seniors and veterans through a collaborative community firewood program.

Collins Pine donates logs to the Lake County community that are unsuitable for milling, then the WCCF work crew cuts and splits these logs into firewood. The Lake County Community Corrections crew delivers the firewood to qualifying recipients.

This program is a community driven effort that exists on a voluntary basis through the generosity of several providers.

Collins Pine, a family-owned company with roots tracing back to 1855. Klamath Lake Community Action Services is a private, non-profit organization working with federal, state, and local resources to provide a multitude of services to those in need. Lake County Community Justice is often referred to as the adult Probation and Parole Department overseen by the Lake County Board of Commissioners. The Veteran’s Services Office not only provides federal and state veterans’ benefits, but also provides a variety of community outreach services. And finally, Warner Creek Correctional Facility is a minimum custody prison which offers eligible adults in custody work experience within the community through the Oregon Department of Correction’s work programs.
